Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains clearly what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We do not sell your data. We do not use your sermon recordings for any purpose other than producing your weekly deliverables.

01 Who we are

Sermon Creative is a content service for churches operated by Spencer Moser, based in Des Moines, Iowa. We provide weekly content production services to churches and ministry organizations on a subscription basis.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, "Sermon Creative," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Spencer Moser and the Sermon Creative service. "You" and "Client" refer to the subscribing individual, church, or organization.

02 Information we collect

We collect information in two ways: information you provide to us directly, and information collected automatically when you use our service.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website or use the dashboard, we may automatically collect:

  • IP address and general geographic location (country or region)
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and time spent on pages
  • Referring URLs
  • Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)

This information is collected through standard web server logs and third-party analytics tools. It is used in aggregate to understand how our website is used and to improve it. We do not combine this data with personally identifiable information without your consent.

03 How we use your information

We use the information we collect strictly for the following purposes:

  • To deliver your weekly content package (blog post, email, social posts, discussion guide)
  • To process and manage your subscription and billing
  • To communicate with you about your account, deliverables, and service updates
  • To respond to revision requests, support questions, and feedback
  • To improve the quality and consistency of our content production
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not use your sermon recordings, transcripts, or church materials for any AI training, content marketing, or purposes beyond producing your deliverables. Your pastoral content stays yours.

We will not send you unsolicited marketing emails. If you receive a service-related email from us (such as a delivery notification or account update), that communication is part of providing the service you subscribed to.

04 How we share your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers

We use a small number of third-party tools to operate the service. These providers may have access to certain data as necessary to perform their functions:

All service providers are contractually required to handle your data securely and only for the purposes for which it was shared.

Legal requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sermon Creative, our clients, or others.

Business transfers

If Sermon Creative is acquired, merged, or its assets are transferred, client data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify active subscribers via email if such a transfer occurs and the new owner intends to use your data differently than described in this policy.

05 Data retention

We retain your account and billing information for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward (typically 3 years) for tax, accounting, and legal compliance purposes.

Sermon materials (audio, video, manuscripts) you upload are retained for the duration of your active subscription to support revision requests and quality review. We will delete uploaded sermon files upon written request after your subscription has ended.

Deliverable files (blog posts, email copy, social graphics, discussion guides) are retained for 12 months after production to support re-delivery if files are lost. After 12 months, deliverables are purged from our systems.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at spencer@sermoncreative.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

06 Cookies and tracking

Our website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience. Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help us recognize return visitors and understand how the site is used.

We use the following categories of cookies:

  • Essential cookies -- Required for the website and dashboard to function. Cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies -- Help us understand how visitors use the site. We use anonymized, aggregate data only.
  • Preference cookies -- Remember your settings and preferences for a better experience.

You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Disabling essential cookies may affect your ability to use the dashboard. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your service experience.

We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. We do not track you across other websites.

07 Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted to and from our website and dashboard
  • Access controls limiting who on the Sermon Creative team can view your uploaded materials
  • Use of reputable, security-audited third-party platforms for file storage and payment processing
  • Regular review of data access practices

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at spencer@sermoncreative.com.

08 Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. Regardless of where you are located, we are committed to honoring the following requests:

  • Access -- You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction -- You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion -- You may request that we delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Portability -- You may request your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Objection -- You may object to certain types of data processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at spencer@sermoncreative.com with the subject line "Data Request." We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

09 Children's privacy

Sermon Creative is a business-to-business service intended for churches and ministry organizations. It is not directed at individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at spencer@sermoncreative.com and we will delete it promptly.

10 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify active subscribers via email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

The updated policy will always be available at sermoncreative.com/privacy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the most recent changes were made. Your continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
